About Our Artisanal Products

Are your products entirely handmade? +
Yes. Each Kuênia piece is handcrafted in family workshops in Northern Vietnam. Some steps (sanding, wood cutting, finishing) may use small mechanical tools, but the bulk of the work—weaving, sewing, assembly, decoration—remains entirely artisanal.
Will my product look exactly like the photo? +
As each piece is unique, slight variations in color, texture or pattern are normal and part of the charm of craftsmanship. Our photographs are as accurate as possible, but the lighting on your screen may also create subtle differences. Some dimensions or patterns may vary slightly, without ever distorting the general perception of the product. These small singularities are what makes your item unique.
Who makes your products? +
Our collections are born from the work of Vietnamese artisans, often in family workshops where expertise is passed down from generation to generation. We work directly with them, in a long-term relationship based on respect and fair compensation.
Do you mass-produce items? +
No, not in large quantities at Kuênia. We prioritize small productions and limited series to preserve artisanal quality and avoid overproduction. For this reason, stock shortages can occur regularly.
The price of some items seems expensive to me? +
Time, expertise, and materials all come at a cost. A woven basket or a mother-of-pearl mosaic can require several hours, even days, of work. Our prices reflect fair compensation for artisans, responsible sourcing of natural materials, and a standard of finish that distinguishes Kuênia pieces from industrial products. Furthermore, our products are imported and distributed from France, and we comply with all European regulations regarding product safety and consumer protection.

About materials and craftsmanship

What materials do you use? +
Mainly natural materials: rattan, water hyacinth, bamboo, mother-of-pearl, ceramic, wood, plant fibers, and hand-woven textiles. We select each material for its texture, durability, and timeless beauty.
Are your materials eco-friendly? +
Our plant fibers (rattan, water hyacinth, bamboo) are rapidly renewable resources, harvested locally in Vietnam. We prioritize short supply chains and natural treatments, and avoid heavy chemical finishes as much as possible.
Are the materials safe for household use? +
Yes. Our pieces are intended for daily domestic use. Items that come into contact with food (trays, coasters, baskets) are designed for this purpose. However, we recommend avoiding prolonged contact with very greasy or very wet foods, and using a cloth or an intermediate plate to protect the material.
Do you use natural finishes? +
Yes, as much as possible: vegetable oils, natural waxes, plant-based dyes. Some pieces receive a light protective varnish to withstand daily use, always in compliance with domestic safety standards.
Will the materials evolve over time? +
Yes, and that's a quality. Natural fibers beautifuly patinate with time; their color may soften, their textures become smoother. Protect your pieces from prolonged humidity and direct sunlight to keep them beautiful for a long time.

About Custom Orders

Do you accept custom orders? +
Yes, but only for large volumes, depending on the items and feasibility with our artisans. Customization is not possible for products sold individually. We review each request on a case-by-case basis: specific dimensions, different colors, adapted patterns, volumes for professional projects (hotels, shops, events). Contact us to discuss.
Can I customize the colors or sizes? +
For some pieces, yes. Craftsmanship offers real flexibility but remains dependent on available materials and manufacturing time. Write to us specifying the product concerned, the desired modification, and the quantity: we will get back to you with a quote and a lead time.
How do I request a custom order? +
Send us an email at hello@kuenia.com describing your project: product, use, colors, dimensions, quantity, and desired lead time. Include any useful inspiration (images, sketches). We will get back to you within a few days with a proposal and a quote.
Does customization incur an additional cost? +
It depends. Small adaptations (size, simple colors) often incur little to no additional cost. More significant modifications (prototype, custom design, special finish) are billed by quote based on the extra time and materials required.
Can I return a customized item? +
No. In accordance with Article L.221-28 of the Consumer Code, parts manufactured to your specifications or significantly customized are not covered by the 14-day right of withdrawal. However, legal guarantees of conformity and against hidden defects fully apply.

About the ordering process

How do I place an order? +
Add the products of your choice to the cart, then validate your order by filling in your delivery and payment details. A confirmation email will be sent to you as soon as the order is registered.
Do I need to create an account to order? +
No. Ordering as a guest is possible with just an email address. However, creating an account allows you to track your orders, access your history, and save time on future purchases.
Can I modify my order after placing it? +
As far as possible, yes, if the order has not yet been shipped. Contact us quickly at hello@kuenia.com, specifying your order number. Our orders are often dispatched the very next day: the sooner you write to us, the more likely it is that we can make the change.
Will I receive an order confirmation? +
Yes. A confirmation email is sent to you immediately after payment is validated, summarizing the products, the amount, and the delivery address. A second email is sent to you upon shipment, with the package tracking number.
What to do if there's a problem with your payment? +
First, check that the information entered (card number, date, CVV, billing address) is correct and that your bank limit is sufficient. If the problem persists, try another browser or another payment method. As a last resort, write to us at hello@kuenia.com with a screenshot: we will guide you step by step.

About Pricing and Payment

What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and American Express, as well as Apple Pay. All transactions are secured by our PCI-DSS certified provider, Shopify Payments. We never have access to your bank details.
Do prices include VAT? +
Yes. All prices displayed on the website are in euros, all taxes included (TTC), at the current VAT rate. Any delivery charges are displayed separately and added before final payment.
Do you offer discounts or promo codes? +
From time to time, yes: new collection arrivals, seasonal promotions, exclusive offers for our newsletter subscribers. Sign up at the bottom of the page to stay informed.
Can prices change? +
Yes, our prices may change depending on our costs and collections. The price applicable to your order is the one displayed at the time of your validation, as shown in your confirmation email.
Are my payment details secure? +
Absolutely. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, compliant with the international PCI-DSS standard (the highest in the industry). Your banking data is encrypted end-to-end and is never transmitted unencrypted. Kuênia never sees or stores it.
